Founders Way
The first hole at The Brisbane Golf Club in the tradition of Alistair McKenzie is a friendly par 5 of just 423 metres. A drive to the crest of the hill will see the golf course open up in front of you and present the perfect opportunity to start your round with a birdie, or for the player who can reach the green in two, an eagle. The green is slightly elevated and guarded by five bunkers.
Naming the Hole
Founders Way – As you tee off and start your round, take a moment and tip your hat to acknowledge the plaque standing in the location where the founding Committee first arrived in 1903 to ponder relocation of our Club and Course from Chelmer and to view the prospective new Yeerongpilly site.
Playing Tip
Focus your attention on the right half of the fairway. Hit a good drive and the green is reachable in two shots and offers the chance to start with a birdie, or eagle.
History
This is the only hole that still has it’s original numbering and this is an original Carnegie Clark design.
