Fairfield
The short 344 metre par 4 is a deceptively simple hole. Unseen from the tee, over a crest at 230m, the Moolabin Creek crosses the fairway. A generous landing area 180 m from the tee leaves an elevated view of the green protected by a small lake on the right and bunkers on the left. The tiered, sloping green requires precise judgment of the contours and finding the correct section is critical to scoring well. Eight is truly a dynamic hole.
Naming the Hole
Jacaranda – Named after the stand of these trees that form a very appealing backdrop to the green. When in flower these trees are a visually stunning feature and are a species of tree that is also known as being iconic in Brisbane.
Playing Tip
Play your tee shot around 200 metres to the left side of the fairway to enable an easier approach to the well-guarded green.
History
The original tee abutted Fairfield Road and the drive was a double water carry. For approximately 10 years it was a Par 3. The water hazard on the right was created in 2015.
