Club archives

The State Library of Queensland holds a significant collection of The Brisbane Golf Club’s Queensland history, featuring photographs, papers, and digitised records from 1896 onwards. Login to the catalogue. Search for “Brisbane Golf Club archive”. On opening the Manuscript called Brisbane Golf Club Archive locate the Collection Guide for a full list of material stored at the library. Material can be ordered online then viewed in the Reading Room on level 4 at the State Library.

Chelmer course walking tour

Trace the fairways and greens of BGC’s historic course through the leafy streets of Chelmer. Starting at the 1897 Robin Dodds-designed clubhouse at 115 Honour Avenue, the route maps nine holes across modern suburban streets, including notable heritage homes and the riverfront. The tour highlights the origins of the club, incorporating local history and architecture from the initial era of the Chelmer site. Read here
