2021 Winners – Graham Paul & Jodi Lobegeiger
History of the Event
Began in 2000 instigated by member and trophy donor Greg Mellifont. Specifically aimed at 6 day members to participate in a significant event of Matchplay format. Intended to acknowledge the older long time members of the BGC by inviting one of them to present the trophy.
Famous English author PG Wodehouse, an avid golfer, wrote many golf stories one of which invented a golfing character called the “Oldest Member”. Engraved on the trophy donated by Greg is a PG Wodehouse quote “Golf is the Great Mystery”.
