Women’s Captain of The Brisbane Golf Club, Helen Caris, has jumped on the front foot prior to the start of the 2021 Brisbane District Ladies Golf Association Pennant season with a highly-optimistic summation of the team.
“Our women’s team this year is awesome,” Helen trumpeted on the eve of Friday’s tee off to the new season.
“Following the abandonment of last year’s Pennant competition because of Covid, we have received terrific support from our members and as a result each of our five teams this year are really strong. Obviously, it is always difficult to judge the strength of our opposition, but I believe Brisbane will be very competitive across all divisions.”
The Gold team, which plays in Zone 1 and lines up against Pacific at McLeod Golf Club on Friday, will be led by No.1 player Hannah Reeves, who plays off plus one. Former Club Champion, Lisa Edgar (scratch) will be the No. 2 player. Seven strong clubs, including Royal Queensland, Redcliffe, Wantima, McLeod and Nudgee will compete in this premier division.
