In March 2023, The Brisbane Golf Club signed the R&A Women in Golf Charter, becoming the first Queensland Club to acknowledge women’s contributions playing, leading or working in golf. The Club is already a market leader in junior golf and its Let’s Golf for Women program, but this commitment will further extend our focus on women and girls so they can maximise their potential at all levels of the sport.
The Club has worked with Golf Australia to develop a Women and Girl’s Engagement Plan and this document will form part of our Strategic Plan. Click here to read our Women and Girl’s Engagement Plan.
We are working with Golf Australia to ensure that golf is a sport where women and girls are inspired to participate, feel welcomed, valued and empowered to achieve their goals.
We also support Golf Australia’s Women and Girl’s Engagement Plan: The Future of Women & Girls in Golf (formerly Vision 2025) and participate in national initiatives.
The Women and Girl’s Engagement Plan is playing a critical role in increasing leadership & participation in golf in Australia through five key areas of the game, that align to Australian Golf’s National Strategy:
