Lord Lamington was the first member of the Club and President from 1896–1901. He was awarded the 3rd Honorary Life Membership in 1902. The Right Honourable Charles Wallace Alexander Napier Cochrane-Baillie, 2nd Baron Lamington, K.C. M.G was a British member of parliament who later served as the 8th Governor of Queensland (1896–1901).
