The Brisbane Golf Club will be looking to continue its undefeated season this Sunday against Nudgee Golf Club in BDGA Division 1 Pennants.
Nudgee need maximum points from their final two home games to avoid regulation to Division 2 whilst a win for BGC could wrap up back-to-back Division 1 titles.
BGC will be looking to secure their third away win of the season and will go into the match with confidence after defeating Keperra Golf Club 12.5-8.5 last Sunday.
Two changes have been made to our Master’s team with Ash Sturmer and Phil Lynem named to play. Ash will be making his debut for BGC whilst this will be Phil’s first game in the Masters, after playing in the Opens in previous years.
Nudgee are coming off a strong result again Royal Queensland Golf Club in the Masters last weekend and how these five matches finish will be a big factor in determining the overall winner of the day.
Our Master’s team is Gary Brodie, Rick Davenport, Phil Lynem, Warwick Oxenford and Ash Sturmer.
Our Juniors lost 2-3 to Nudgee when the two teams met earlier this year and will need to be at their best this weekend. One change has been made to the team with Katio Chiu unavailable for selection. Matthew Van Eden will be his replacement and this will be his first game of the season.
Our Junior’s team is Jordan Hampson, Baily Ittensohn, Sam Slater, Ben Stieler and Matthew Van Eden.
Our Opens team is unchanged from last week and again will be at full-strength.
Our Opens team is Dylan Barraclough, Kurt Carlson, Steven Cox, Tom Deane, Louis Dobbelaar, Wade Edwards, Lawry Flynn, Sam Howse, Tim Lukin, Cameron Powell and Ilija Soldan.
In the corresponding fixture last year the two teams played out an exciting draw.
In the other match this Sunday, KGC will be at home to RQ. Both teams still have a chance of winning Division 1.
