Fairfield

The short Par 3, seventh at 144 metres requires careful club selection depending on pin placement. The 30m long undulating green has subtle breaks and borrows and long putts are difficult to read. The green is protected by bunkers at the front and on each side. Missing the green makes par a problem.

Naming the Hole

Fairfield – Named after the road that runs along this simple but deceptive short Par 3 hole.

Playing Tip

A short Par 3 that offers a birdie chance with a well struck tee shot.

History

This a “sister” hole to Hole No.2, also being first played on Opening Day 1950. It was originally a right hand dog-leg par four, however, too many tee shots were being sliced onto Fairfield Road so the hole was changed in 1998 to a par three.
