Chase Oberle has collected his third State Junior Championship of the year, this week winning the Victorian Junior Open in mostly cold and windy conditions, by five shots.
The elite BGC member, who last week won the prestigious four-round Gary Player Classic at Pacific Golf Club by 11 strokes, scored nine-under 275 (70,68,72,65) on three different courses from Tuesday, to snare just another major title in 2024.
On Tuesday he parred the regional Barwon Heads course, followed by four-under 68 at 13th Beach Creek course, then par 72 at the 13th Beach Beach course, and finishing with five-under 65 back at Barwon Heads on Thursday.
Chase had earlier won the Australian Junior Masters at Royal Adelaide in January, and the Queensland Junior Amateur at Nudgee in June.
The next golfing commitment for the 16-year-old St Augustine’s College Year 11 student is as a member of the Queensland Junior team, contesting the Jack Newton International Junior at Cypress Lakes, on the NSW Central Coast, from October 1.
